Mark your calendars for Oct 29th. Colin Moorhouse will be addressing our group about business issues important to freelance writers.
Colin Moorhouse has been a freelance speechwriter for 15 years, writing speeches for private and public sector clients across Canada. He has built up his business over the years and learned many of the lessons all freelancers should consider. He addresses the nerve-wracking things we all have to deal with: the cold calls, the networking, the money thing, the marketing, and establishing an identity. He says “they all need to be tackled head on. Fearlessly.” His website, http://www.fearlessfreelancing.com, helps you develop the tools to do just that.
The meeting will be held in the boardroom at the False Creek Yacht Club, 1661 Granville St, Vancouver BC. In case you’ve never been there, it’s under the Granville Street bridge on the downtown side, on the seawall, right above the restaurant Nu (across from C). Mapquest it if you’re not sure as some members had trouble finding it last time.
Arrival and drinks from 6-6:30. Speaker to start promptly at 6:30. Dress is casual. Please RSVP so we can alert the Club as to how many guests to expect. This meeting is by invitation and for members of the Vancouver PWAC Chapter.
See you then!
