In a last-minute change, Barb Adamski will be addressing our group at the Nov. 19th Vancouver Chapter meeting. The topic is “beyond writing for magazines.” (This is a change from the previously advertised “Going Corporate” meeting.)
Barb’s non-magazine work is a combination of writing and editing but for corporations, small businesses, and educational institutions (and individual authors). Her forte as a writer and editor is studying the genre of the project, whether it be annual reports, audio scripts, or encyclopedia entries. It’s her skill in figuring out the constraints of a genre that allow her to reinvent herself and take on a variety of projects.
The meeting will be held in the boardroom at the False Creek Yacht Club, 1661 Granville St, Vancouver BC. In case you’ve never been there, it’s under the Granville Street bridge on the downtown side, on the seawall, right above the restaurant Nu (across from C). Mapquest it if you’re not sure as some members had trouble finding it last time.
Arrival and drinks from 6-6:30. Speaker to start promptly at 6:30. Dress is casual. Please RSVP to the evite you were emailed so we can alert the Club as to how many guests to expect.
